St
Luke's seeks to take a full role in inter-church activities and belongs
to both the Sevenoaks and District Council of Churches and to the North-West
Fellowship of Churches. It has links with parishes in Cergy-Pontoise
and Liverpool and tries to give meaningful support to the Church's world-wide
mission through Christian Aid and other agencies to the world's poor
and hungry.
St
Cyprians, Edge Hill, Liverpool
News of St Cyprian's came to us in 1998 when the Merseyside parish wrote to
all clergy and churches in the land to ask for their help with a massive appeal
for the radical re-ordering of their spacious inner-city church building to
provide a high quality multi-purpose community facility. We responded with
a donation and the suggestion that they might like to make a visit to our parish
to tell us more about their project. Since then both congregations have enjoyed
worshipping and socialising together as well as learning something of each
others ministry and mission.
Cergy
- Pontoise, France.
Sevenoaks is twinned with Pontoise in France and St Luke's has been linked
to the reformed church of Cergy since 1987. We believe we have much to offer
each other in prayerful and practical support and many friendships have been
formed between members of our two churches. Groups of people from St Luke's
have visited L'Eglise Reformee in Cergy in the recent past.
