Church
Links
St
Luke's seeks to take a full role in inter-church activities and belongs
to both the Sevenoaks and District Council of Churches and to the North-West
Fellowship of Churches. It has links with parishes in Harare, Cergy-Pontoise
and Liverpool and tries to give meaningful support to the Church's world-wide
mission through Christian Aid and other agencies.
Church
Mission Society.
We at St Luke's consider our link with CMS to be very important.
CMS encourages and support the philosophy that local mission and world
mission are not divided but very much partners in the life of the church.
St Luke's shares this understanding and it informs our own mission activities
at all levels.

CMS
Mission Partners.
It is our joy and privilege at St Luke's to support a family who have
recently moved to India from the UK through CMS. They are:- Eric and Rhena
Clouston and their two children, Kitty and Samuel. They are working with
TAFTEE which is an organisation that provides opportunities for people
in South India to take up accredited bible and ministerial studies. Students
are already active in ministry on campuses and slums so the work clearly
goes beyond the normal bible training. Click

St
Cyprians, Edge Hill, Liverpool.
St Luke's has had a link with this Merseyside parish since 1998, set up
by David Lewis, Vicar of St Cyprian's and Robert Chavner, previously Vicar
of St Luke's.
Following the retirement of David Lewis and Robert's appointment as Vicar
of Brighton, the congregations continued the link and now under the guidance
of Mike Coates in Liverpool and Mark Griffin in Sevenoaks, the churches
pray regularly for each other in very different situations, and mutually
support each other as seeking to find God's will for the future.
Cergy
- Pontoise, France.
Sevenoaks is twinned with Pontoise in France and St Luke's has been linked
to the reformed church of Cergy since 1987. We believe we have much to
offer each other in prayerful and practical support and many friendships
have been formed between members of our two churches. Groups of people
from St Luke's have visited L'Eglise Reformee in Cergy in the recent past.
Harare
Marondera.
St Luke's has had a link with the parish of Marondera since the late 1990's
as part of the link between the diocese of Rochester and the diocese of
Harare. Although the link has been suspended in recent years, we still
support our brothers and sisters in Zimbabwe in our thoughts and prayers.
Last year Bishop Bakare visited us as part of his trip to the UK and we
are always keen to support his work and to keep abreast of developments
within Zimbabwe.
