The Parish Church Of St Luke, 30 Eardley Road, Sevenoaks, Kent. TN13 1XT  Tel 01732 743045  Charity Reg. No:- 1127331 Music at St Luke’s  St Luke's is a central Anglican parish with a traditional style of worship. One of its most important  features is a musical tradition, nurtured over a number of years by successive clergy and Directors of  Music. We have two choirs - Senior and Junior. The Senior Choir sing every Sunday at our 10.15 services,  aiding our worship with a prepared anthem and leading the congregation in a choral setting of the  Mass. The anthems are drawn from a wide range of music and the Mass settings are changed several  times a year. The Senior Choir rehearse on Thursday evenings.  The Junior Choir includes children from 6-11, who sing at our Family Eucharist on the first Sunday of  the month, and rehearse on Thursday afternoons. We also encourage our children to take part in the  service in other ways, especially those who are instrumentalists, and several have later graduated to  the Senior Choir.  The Choir aims at a high standard, but welcomes everyone. We have recorded two CDs, sung a  number of times in Rochester Cathedral and are due to sing in Southwark Cathedral in 2011. As well as  Sunday mornings, we sing during Holy Week at a variety of services, for special days like Ascension  Day and for some Choral Evensongs during the year. St Luke's hosts a triennial arts Festival and  participates in the annual Sevenoaks Festival, with the Choir playing an important part.  Our Musical Director is Nancy Wolfe, who trains both choirs and deputises as organist. Our principal  organist is Paul Isom, who is also Diocesan Organ Advisor. The whole team is committed to the  worship of God through music and the enjoyment of working together. If you would like to find out more  or join the choir, please speak with Nancy or email her at music@stlukes-sevenoaks.org.uk  Lunch Time Recitals  For ten months of the year (we miss January and August) each Wednesday at 12.30 St Luke's hosts a  recital which lasts about half an hour. We have a wide variety of recitalists, everything from arias to  Bluegrass to ensembles,  all to a very high standard. The recitals also encourage young musicians,  especially from local schools and from national colleges of music.  The recitals are free, and enjoy wide support especially amongst those working in the town, who often  bring their lunch (coffee and tea are available) and people are free to come and go during the recital.  If you would like to give a recital please contact Ruth Morris our booking secretary and if you would like  to come along and listen please consult our recitals programme below - we're sure you will find  something of interest.  FEBRUARY 2012 1st Greg Tassell - Tenor 8th Hiroshi Kanazawa - Tenor & Barry Griffiths - Piano 15th Jean Bentley’s Old Tyme Dance Band 22nd Caroline & Richard Walshaw - Soprano & Organ 29th Ingrid Cusido - Piano MARCH 2012 7th Holly Bingham -Soprano Dagmar Zeromska - Mezzo Soprano 14th Marjorie Ouvry - Contralto, Suzanne Walker - Soprano & AliceTurner - Piano 21st Pupils from Granville School 28th Sophie Kochanowska & Kamilla Dunstan - Mezzo Sopranos
